Advice on common matertials

Householders can bring up to 20 litres of paint to the collection; however, hardened paint and empty paint tins will not be accepted. Dry paint is perfectly safe to dispose of in your waste bin:
Harden paint at home by leaving the lid off or adding a paint hardener purchased from a hardware store. Tap the hardened tablet of paint out of the tin and place in the waste bin.

Empty, dry paint tins can be recycled in the yellow recycling bin, see our tricky waste fact sheet for more information.

E-waste such as TVs, computers and electrical equipment is NOT accepted at the depot. For options on recycling e-waste see the Recycling Locations page or the list of ongoing e-waste drop-off options.
