Australian organisations
Australia’s states and territories are steadily developing and implementing strategies guided by the zero waste philosophy.
VIC: The Towards Zero Waste Strategy guides the zero waste actions of Sustainability Victoria.
ACT: Territory and Municipal Services has information on residential collections, recycling and waste services, and waste management for business and industry.
NSW: The Department of Environment and Climate Change recently released a draft NSW Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2006, updating the 2003 strategy.
QLD: The Environmental Protection Agency has developed the Waste Management Strategy for Queensland.
TAS: The Environment Division of the Department of Tourism, Arts and theEnvironment has developed a Draft Waste Management Strategy for Tasmania.
WA: The Waste Management Board develops waste strategy and policy delivered through its agency Towards Zero Waste.
NT: Waste Management and Resource Recovery in Department of Natural Resources, Environment and The Arts is the Northern Territory’s agency for waste management.

New Zealand Business Council for Sustainable Development: focused on achieving zero solid waste in industry
Zero Waste Kovalam Project: a program of Thanal Conservation Action and Information Network, a voluntary public interest research, action and advocacy group based in Kerala, India
Recycling Council of British Columbia: Canada's oldest Recycling Council, has led British Columbia's progressive policy of extended producer responsibility (EPR) programs and other initiatives towards zero waste
Zero Waste International Alliance: working towards a world without waste through public education and practical application of Zero Waste principles (lists more zero waste communities)

California Integrated Waste Management Board: the State agency designated to oversee, manage, and track the 92 million tons of waste generated each year in California
