WOMADELAIDE 2005 trial
WOMADelaide is an annual three-day, ticketed outdoor festival of music, arts and dance. The 2005 festival attracted over 65,000 people and comprised more than 300 artists from over 22 countries. This report assesses the effectiveness of zero waste initiatives implemented at the 2005 event.

Assessment of Biodegradable Catering Products
One way of increasing the volume of event waste diverted from landfill is to use disposable biodegradable catering products that can be processed at a commercial composting facility. Event Waste Composting Trials
The report assesses the suitability of composting as a method for processing biodegradable event waste. Two separate composting trials were conducted. The first trial was designed to test the suitability of static pile composting as a pre-treatment process for managing biodegradable event waste. The second trial was designed to test the suitability of combining static pile composting with conventional open windrow composting to treat biodegradable event waste.
